How do I get past the intimidation of staring at a blank paper and being unable to properly interpret my ideas and thoughts into words as well as the fear that I will immediately hate what I've written (due to the fact that my prose is sophmoric and grasp of basic grammar lacking) and become so disgusted by my efforts that I chopse to give up halfway through?

Out of all of that social theory bullshit you guys read, has there been anybody who rejects the lazy, oversimplified categorizations of people into race, gender, etc.?

Meaning, instead of accepting the social male/female divide as objectively true and working from there, it would approach smaller, more refined clusters of social groups that had less to do with gender.

Reality is not lack of reality. There is a concrete difference right there, no matter what the tendency of literary forms is at the present. Just because there historically has been a crossover does not mean that neither form really exists. It is true however to say that genres are constructs, but this does not mean "stories written about real life" are the same as "stories written about things that are not real life"
