Sowell essentially predicted the future.

What are some other authors like him?

What do you think of his works considering their relevancy today? He was decades ahead of his time.

You're an actual memester, aren't you?
>Or he could have argued for a gradual increase for affirmative action
How would that counter Dinesh' reasoning? Affirmative action is a ludicrous, dumb, and ultimately fruitless concept which does more harm than good.
Thomas Sowell expresses the same view on nonsense like affirmative action, and as usual with liberals and their fairy-tales these views are held as facts, as Sowell says time and time again, "without a speck of evidence given". In the second video below, the interviewer reads a quote from Frederick Douglas which is very fitting to this: "What shall we do with the negro?" and Douglas replied "I have had but one answer from the beginning: do nothing with us, your doing with us has already played the mischief with us."

It's not that Dinesh fails to see what a massive task it is, it's that he succeeds in pointing out the hypocrisy of that guy since he will only do what he thinks is "right" if all of society does it before he does. There is nothing stopping him from following his own ethics and beliefs by setting an example and living his life as he believes it should be lead. Instead, he timidly raises his hand and tries to circumvent the core truth that his beliefs are bullshit by talking endlessly about HOW and WHAT society should do pertaining to some made-up liberal higher good which simply has now ground in reality. Pic related.

As for your last paragraph, it reminds me of something Bill Gates said when an interviewer asked him about his philanthropy: he replied by explaining that he isn't the true philanthropist, considering all he's done is give a lot of money away and even so he's still rich, but that there's people out there who give their lives to a cause, such as doctors in poor countries, and those are the true philanthropists.

>mfw people attempt to criticize economic systems without understanding them

Marx's ghost still haunts this earth only out of a failure of people to understand economics. It's that simple.
