I think David Foster Wallace was a giant fag and each and every work of his is a huge piece of rotten shit. If he was so savvy, why did he kill himself? You're a DFW fan? You're a fag too. Kill yourself.

wanna know why great writers kill themselves? cause they know how wrong it is to live. living life as a human, your only task is to work so you can buy bullshit and fuck mates. if you dont do those things, if you'd rather be a giving and compassionate human being, then society brands you as a loser.

so defeat is the only logical option. except i'd take it a step further and say that mass suicide would be best for all of us. as vonnegut said, we are a disease, and like syphillis with a conscience we should probably stop reproducing.

Okay, so I've read The Broom of the System, Infinite Jest, and Brief Interviews with Hideous Men. I have Oblivion and A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again; which should I read next?

Why is David Foster Wallace so famous and respected? His novels are extremely obscure, so that only academics, not common readers, can possibly appreciate them.

I really like The Broom of the System. I agree that it's his weakest novel, but I had a lot of fun reading it. It's much lighter and sillier than IJ and TPK.

/lit/, it seems I need to read something by DFW since all of you talk about him most of the time. But right now, i have no money and the library of my university does not have a single book of DFW.

I would like to read Infinite Jest, but I can't have a copy and I won't read a 1200 pages book on the screen. So what's the best alternative -short story or any piece of literature of his- I can read in my computer to see what it is like?
