Tao Lin's latest novel has mostly seen critical acclaim. Even those who criticize his style as boring and vapid acknowledge worthiness in that alone. With that said, I've encountered nothing but animosity towards him here, which I wonder about. He's the only 'meme' author (as I understand them to be: DFW, Pynchon, even fucking Joyce) that I see no polarization of, just unanimous contempt. I'll be the first to not treat any board as a hivemind, but that's honestly most of the responses I've seen to his mentioning in threads and posts. To those who have read his work (or those who haven't), what is it about Lin you dislike/like? Why do so many people here seem to hate him without question?
