It's a series of statements in the style of Wittgenstein, typed out by a woman who is alone on earth. There is a sort of narrative.

In the beginning, sometimes I left messages in the street.

Might sound like a silly question, but is there any required or mandatory reading before reading this book? I'm aware that it's fiction and that it references certain people and ideas, but will I gain more from it if I take the time to actually read up on those people or am I safe jumping straight in?
