do you ever kinda feel like the whole myth of the "poet" is just kind of a joke these days ?

people live so fast, and our culture just crammed up my brain with bull shit like pokemon and internet porn.
it's like the whole idea of being just kind of reflective and perhaps slightly pretentious in a harmless way has suddenly become an over the top joke. but at the same time the stuff that's in its place is sorta repulsive

Why aren't there any Yeats topics on here? He's one of the greatest 20th century poets.

Whats /lit/'s opinion on William Butler Yeats? Personally Hes poems are the only poems I found truly Interesting.
