I don't read books. Books are for those who have been raised to read books - that is, in the time before technology allowed greater and more relevant access to information through the internet.

Books are a dead medium of learning and information transfer, even university and national libraries have woken up to this and have increasingly invested in using online resources and placing content online.

It's over folks, and you're so butthurt over the realization that you go into damage control whenever a person suggests that a person doesn't need to read books to be intelligent, or that you can actually learn more online faster and more relevantly than by going through some musty old blocks of binded paper.

I'm intelligent, I'm knowledgable, and I don't read books. Stay in the 20th century for all I care, but I won't let you grasp to keep me there. I bet some butthurt mod on here is going to ban me anyway. But it doesn't matter, it's only a matter of time; books are already dead, and for good.

Deal with it.

I haven't read a book in the past decade

I attend a prestigious university and have scored HDs in essays

I haven't even read 'To Kill a Mockingbird'

Ask me anything

Looks like I've caused some bookworm butthurt

I'm legit not lying. I've only opened up a handful of books in the past 10 years, and I've never finished reading any of them. I'd like to, but I just don't feel like I have the time.

Also, I knew I'd get the 'no, you're not more special than anyone else' type of response, but I really am. For example if I ask them what feudalism or ontology is, they won't have a clue. Same if I ask them about what Orwell or Nietzsche wrote about. Some people at my university will, but they'll only know what they've learned from a university unit or from high school. Hell, what I learned from Age of Empires II is more than these people know about the Middle Ages.

>Reading a book, a retelling of the last in a series I love.
>Get halfway through, realize I haven't enjoyed any of it since I started.
>Wonder if I'll miss anything good by stopping now...
>Decide it's not worth it, close the book, pick up a new one immediately.

Ever done this, /lit/? If so, did you feel guilty about it?

Hello /lit/.

I have been reading a lot of philosophy recently, and i want to move on to Hegel (and eventually Kierkegaard from him).

As it stands, Hegel seems quite intimidating to me.

I've already read a great deal of kant and hume, but is there anything other than learning german that will help me to understand Hegel?
