Because Nabokov is truly a pervert, but not in the everyday definition that people use. He is a literary pervert, and this shines through in his prose. He matches this style with actual perverted acts like in Lolita and Ada because it meshes well together and creates a great dynamic piece. When I say his prose is perverted in a purely literary style, I mean that he is too prying. He is always pulling away the covers to expose the sour nudity, but in way that is removed from the expelling of falsities and more in line with going a little too far in the show. And so there is beauty in this sober maxim. His perverted prose divorced from perverted themes can be found in his short stories and his pre-American novels.
