>just be polite, nice and non-confrontational lol
You really need a book for this?

Alternative to this book that isn't self-help?

Why not just read this book, develop a hobby or two and meet people at the park, the gym, meetup groups, community college class of your choice, etc?

If you have some sort of chronic illness or disability then I apologize, but I don't see how people let this be a problem so long.

I want to put much more effort into my relationships and even make more close friendships, I feel that I have neglected this a lot, I think the reality is making friends when youre older is a lot harder, since most friendships are a product of being an environment with likeminded people for long periods of time, or sharing common interests, I also think modernity makes people shy aware from being more open about their intentions. Ironically I met people I keep in touch and care about via online means.

I think the best way today to make friendships is maybe to improve myself as much as possible and be a person other people want to be around, what are your thoughts?

I didn't find it life changing, but there were some good insights that I learned from like the importance of remembering people's names when addressing them and being genuinely interested in other people.

>just give the boss a firm handshake and tell him you're lookin' fer a job! worked for me!
>"advice" that ranges from being a total doormat for your boss to painfully obvious truths that everyone already knows

Does this book still hold up in the 21st century social climate?

Ok /lit/, is this book legit? Has anyone here read it and tried putting it into practice? And if it does work, will it turn me into a misanthrope due to the realization that how well you get along with people is based solely on what you can do for then or what they think you can do for them, destroying the notion that anyone truly and selflessly cares for another person?

>Literally lick their asses and act like everyone is the center of the universe, disregarding your own interests in favor of theirs

Is this how human interaction really works?

Any books on manipulation and techniques of psychological influence?
Not something general like The Prince, but more of a hyperautistic dissection of human interaction, yknow.

And this one was essential for escaping neetdom and becoming a successful individual.
I learned more from this than any book of philosophy I've tried, save perhaps Stirner.

Semi-related but I'm looking for anything and everything about selling, client communication and any tactics that could help me as a salesman. I'm embarking in a freelancing journey and I quickly realized how incredibly crucial it is to master these things. Pitching, marketing, influencing, hell, even NLP... Give me anything, I'll check it. It's terribly hard to filter the normie fluff from the actual knowledge, also this board barely covers these topics and /biz/ is the land of the cryptoshills. Any external resource is also welcome.

Literally this. If it all just seems like common sense then that's good, just fucking do it. This stuff comes naturally to most people but if you're a virgin autist then you need this to catch up.
