What's a good introductory linguistics book? Google is giving me either nothing or something too focused or dense

Two centuries from now which philosophical works from 1980-2014 will still be studied and talked about?

Can there be another Heidegger like philosopher who helps us see reality in a wholly different way, or is that age behind us?

Is the future of philosophy going to consist, more or less, of theory of mind and 'ironing' out small kinks in already established philosophy?

Are there any game changing questions left to answer?

I listen to very philosophically informed people like pic related from time to time and wonder if they still have the capacity too add to philosophy. All I ever seem to see intellectuals doing these days is explaining/defending their stances or applying their world view to current events. Do they still create?

Not meaning to say, of course, that I think I understand how modern philosophy is distributed and created by academia. In fact, I imagine that my questions have good answers. I'm just looking for answers, not claiming that philosophy is dead or anything.

>inb4: Nome Chomsky is a [insert negative]
I'm not praising Noam Chomsky, he's just a good example of a modern public intellectual who has a firm understanding of 20th century philosophy.
