The thousand injuries of the roasties I had borne as I best could, but when they ventured upon insult, I vowed revenge.

What are some lines, passages, or quotes from works of literature/books/short stories/etc that you remember, word-for-word, no matter how much time passes? Some phrases or sentences that are burned into your memory and will be there until the day you die?

For me, it was my first exposure to Edgar Allen Poe, in the 9th grade. That is the opening line to "The Cask of Amontillado."

"The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult... I vowed revenge."

So good.

What about yall?
