He was a racist, and that was and still is a good and healthy stance. The vast majority of humans are and always have been racist, the fact that middle class white people in the past 100 years have decided racism=bad doesn't actually mean much.

The racism=bad trend is the anomaly, rather than the other way round. Racism has existed forever, and will exist long after anti-racist whiteoids are gone.
