You all laugh, but I am actually tormented by the enormous, disembodied head of a neckbeard. I mean, I assume he would be a neckbeard if indeed he manifested a neck. Anyway, it's fucking terrible. He's always telling me about how I should stop reading entertaining but simplistic literature just because it "doesn't reflect the human condition" or "atrophies my vocabulary and critical thinking skills". I try to tell him that demanding quality from the things I love only leads to disappointment and alienation from the faceless mass of my peers, but he just refuses to listen to reason.
He does this to me every day, interrupting my ordinary conversations with his vapid arguments, and displaying grotesque, if completely unrelated habits of personal hygiene and public discourse. I'm not sure how much more of it I can take. Why must I constantly be persecuted by this caricature of a man?
