In contemporary society, being introverted is seen as a disability.

A functional, normal person is supposed to be outgoing, friendly and likeable, a team-player who has your back and won't let you down, someone who's on twitter, facebook, linkedin and google, who'se one of your 5-friends cell phone package and who shows up to work early each day to have a nice chat with his buds at the office, who returns your calls and sounds natural on the phone, and who thinks nothing of going out for coffee or something because you're just so interesting to be around, who has a girlfriend and is going to have kids someday, but who doesn't neglect to have a night out with the boys every week and go dancing on the weekends, someone with a firm handshake and a confident smile and white teeth and who goes to his highschool reunions to smile and have a good time, someone who knows when to hold em and when to fold em, a straight shooter and a man's man, clean cut, crew cut, with fresh duds and a breath mint, who doesn't perspire into the armpits of his well-fitting suit, who makes small talk with the ladies and gives the low-down to the boss, a real pal, an absolute dude, someone who doesn't play office politics except when he does, who fucked ten chicks in highschool and resolves disputes diplomatically, although he can sure as heck lay you out when he means business, someone with a mean right hook and a company car.
