genuinely pushed me further left than anything else and completely shifted my views on society, so a pretty strong blackpill. Heteronormative society and institutions exist to basically perpetuate capitalism and we all fall under that weight, gay people but also straight people are oppressed by the gender expectations (men need to get a wife and whatever and women have to meld themselves into wives) but the whole point is to consume and make more babies (future consumers). This is related to gay stuff/it’s queer theory because gay people inherently transgress the capitalist machine by not being able to have babies, having sex for pleasure (called death drive). All I did was pick this up to see what queer theory was about and now I’m a fucking Marxist. It’s honestly pretty racist and talks a lot about gay stuff, but the gems are in there.

Try this, it's a very short read (an essay) and hits lots of beats from an old gay male perspective. It also anticipates what we would now call political correctness/toxic SJW-dom, with groupuscle-members half-afraid to actually speak their minds lest they be called out as Impure (the left does the same thing today, and always), yet the author remains committed to Revolution, for some reason (to be fair, I would imagine the ghetto described at the time has something to do with it). But the great irony in all this is that capitalism has done far more to effectuate queer emancipation than the left ever has, will, or can. This is the true lesson: the nihilism of capitalism squares very well with queer nihilism, which is bound these days to a certain consumerism of the moment, and no life beyond one's self (which is strictly true of everyone, though the straights delude themselves otherwise, imagininig that they will "live on through their children" in any meaningful way that actually matters).
