It's coming-of-age, so he's kind of blending all the oriental cultures together. He's not sure of what he wants to be yet, or even who he is. In the third act, he's going to get dick-shortening surgery and have his eyelids surgically made slanty, so by then I think I'll know his character enough to decide a culture.

Can good taste be acquired? Can you improve your comprehension of literature? I never went to art school, and although I read carefully and watch movies with sharp attention, I feel like I'm always missing stuff. In my own writing, sometimes I'm not sure what's good or bad.
