Last book read: Albert Camus - The Plague, Arno Schmidt - Leviathan/Black Mirrors
Currently reading: Stephen King - The Gunslinger
Favourite book: Hard to say, I have too many. Dune is one of my favorite series, at least.
Type of people you're interested in: Interesting people who I can chat with for long periods of time, interested in politics, music, books (of course). It's hard for me to point out the things that attract me from a person in particular, it's mostly in their personality.

Eh, slow night, nothing but poem rating around (I hid them all anyway), I guess we could try it.
Here's mine:

You should add At The Mountains of Madness too, OP. It's my favorite Lovecraft. Also nice to see a Lynch fan.

Oh Caps Lock Guy, you're such a cool dude...
I'm gonna post mine just because there's a lot of stuff in there that I can't find here in my country, but... Duuuude. I'd feel really embarrased :C

I can relate to your story at some extent, btw. My mom was the one that inspired me to read books, right now I'm sitting next to two huge boxes of old books that will be reselled soon, just because they're taking a lot of space. When I was little (probably around 10) my mom bought me lots of Jules Verne books and similar literature, and I practically devoured those books. My mom likes mostly romantic novels (nothing like Twilight, stuff like Daniel Steele and other authors, just silly soap operas I guess), along with Stephen King, conspiracy stuff, etc, and every time she finished with a book she felt I was going to enjoy, she recommended it to me. In some cases I was "too young" for some books so she usually told me "I'm gonna read it first and I'll tell you if you can read it", but in the end she ended up giving them to me anyway.
Only until recently I've gotten around to buy books by myself because this board made me deeply interested in literature, but I've been building a small library so in the future when I have children I'll be able to give them my books in the same fashion my mom did. Ohhh well.

I got some great recommendations from anon earlier, I'm glad about that. I'll try to get them from my local bookstore, in the case I actually find these books...
... Which seems unlikely. :(
