I want to get into poetry, but I don't understand half the words and the meaning being conveyed.
Words could be taken of with a dictionary, but what do I do about incomprehension?

I think about girls all the time. Pretty girls mostly. Pretty girls whom I wish I could date. It would probably feel really nice to kiss and cuddle them. I wonder what my life would be like if I spent less time thinking about girls.

What's the point of reading a book if you all you retain is a vague idea of the plot and forget everything else? What do you actually take away after reading a book that's permanent?

Does your library use it? Mine just uses some weird fiction-nonfiction / genre / first-three-letters of an author's surname system to categorize books, it's not very agreeable or efficient at all, especially when all the interlibrary loan systems use different categorization systems of their own.

What are some good non fiction books that doesn't require previous knowledge to read it?
I'm setting up a physical library and i want to buy books that i don't know much about but that i can read at anytime i want and not be thinking about if i need to read someone else before tackling it. Most of philosophy need not to apply, but a few do. I'm also not really looking for a lot of history texts,i haven't read a single history book that was well written. But if you think such and such particular history text is worth reading then i'd welcome it. This is more or less what i'm looking for:

Schopenhauer - Essays
Kierkegaard - Fear & Trembling
Auerbach - Mimesis
Industrial Society and its future
The Myth of Sisyphus
A short history of decay

Basically, books that one could pick and read at any time.
