I once again apologize for maybe leading you into delusion, but unfortunately I have so many (you)s that they've dramatically depreciated in value. I don't need to try and hoard them or post without links like a retard in a sad attempt to inflate the value of my opinions - it is already tremendous due to the huge demand, indicated by (you) creating these shit threads which serve no other purpose other than collecting my opinions, like beggars collect rainwater.

the humanities are dying disciplines anon. they have commited suicide via postmodeernism. there will be no money there because you will not be able to produce anything that people want to buy. students do not want to buy your education, and corporations do not want to buy anything you write. your work will likely be completely detached form reality and meaningless.

the only thing you can do is try to blackmail businesses with accusations of racism/sexism/classism/imperialism.

humanities majors are borderline unemployable. do something else with your life.

mostly because, >>5468834 , but it mostly depends on your approach to it. A couple decades ago you had to be a rebel about it, now it's more about being pretentious and being sternly-hip

Dipshit retard idiot asshole thread.

When's the last time you saw one of those fuckheads reading/discussing a book?

>retard
Saw an actual retard reading A Storm of Swords last month on the bus. He kept screaming at the book and drooling on it. One time he put the book down and just scream-cried for like ten minutes. I thought he'd gotten to the Red Wedding but it wasn't far enough for that. So...

Idiots: My /lit/ class has some obese nerd who took psychology and constantly interrupts the class to diagnose the characters. Personal favorite moment was when he got analfrustrated that some kid disagreed with the assessment that Jane Eyre was a misogynist. Threw it book at them. Oh Chris.

No it doesn't, for two reasons
1) the death of a human will result in suffering in close friends and relatives
2) the person, before death, has consciousness, and therefore certain rights. Personhood cannot, however, be ascribed to a fetus because a fetus lack the requisite cognitive faculties.

ITT: How to make /lit/ better

1. Anons that frequent other boards such as /mu/, /tv/, /int/, and /v/, get the fuck out and never come back.
2. Keep "suggestions threads" to a minimum
3. Keep philosophy threads to a minimum
4. Keep political threads out completely
5. More thorough book reviews
6. More poignant interpretation of passages in books (or books in their entirety) we all know and love.
7. No more existential crisis threads
8.DFW is now to be considered as taboo as Ayn Rand
9.Advice on e-readers have no place here
10. More Art threads.
