Should I read the really fucked up psychosexual Outlast fanfic that I've already read twice, the Zombie-AU One Piece fanfic that I haven't read, or the Walking Dead AU fanfic that I read half of, but then stopped because it kept gut-punching me? I'm gonna need some help.

Worse, I keep getting my ideas from my dreams, and I can't extrapolate to a full length idea. I'm fucked.

Can anyone explain to a brainlet how a mixed/state run economy works (or is supposed to) in a science fiction setting where one entity/government/authority has taken over the Earth and there is no outside trading of any kind? Like where does "the capital" come from?
