Just finished this book for the third or fourth time, and something really bugs me about the ending.

Why the fuck did Naoko commit suicide? Didn't she and Tohru made a promise to try their best for her to recover from her illness, so they can live together, enjoy life and whatnot? She lead him to believe that they would have a future and then went and hanged herself. They said that her state is improving too, so why the fuck?
