Hey c/lit/s this is, I concede, in essence a homework thread but it's not quite what you think. I was going to come on here and attempt to veil it but we're all adults, why do such a thing, besides I think you'll enjoy the topic.

I'm enrolled in a poetry class and am absolute bollocks when it comes to writing the shit. Typically the best I can do is work out a line or two based around one really good word. I find I work better through sound than anything else.

So here it is, and it can be used for some interesting discussion, what do you think are some damn fine words to make your poems hook in the reader?

I'll start us off. Cheval is one I'm personally fond of. The idea of a somewhat malleable, more so rotating, reflective surface in itself is an incredible jumping point for a number of different subjects. Add that to the fact that it's FUCKING AWESOME TO SAY, once you learn the proper pronunciation, and it's simply fantastic.
