Michael scott earle being a bitch on fb (6/6)

This isn’t me pointing the finger at all of you and saying “BE NICER!” I’m more like wanting to open a discussion about why we as men, kind of act super salty over minor shit. Like I totally get like this with some books, I fricken hate, hate, hate Robbin Hobb’s Assassin’s Apprentice series, but I can point to like ever single chapter where Hobb makes me (the reader) feel like shit because she puts her MC through shit (so I feel like she deserves my scathing reviews), but other novels I realize I get hung up on one little thing, and I can’t let it go, but the creator doesn’t deserve my spite.

Everyone says SOLO was a great movie, but we didn’t watch it, and I’m looking at the market for men’s books, and it looks like it’s cratering dramatically. That’s why I asked that question the other day about your reading habits. A lot of you say you are reading the same amount, but it really looks like readership in the genre is down by at least half.

Do you 1-star books when a small detail is off? Do you 5-star a book when you really like it? If you like reading books, do you try to get other men to read? If we WANT more content and entertainment for men, how do we get it?
