Because it has been purposely razed. Koenigsberg received the same treatment dozens of towns and cities received beforehand. They still raze buildings, either they "accidentally" burn or are left in disrepair on purpose. Again, Kaliningrad oblast is a prime example, with old German architecture purposely left to rot and decay with zero fucks given to local Russians much preferring it restored. If you want to utterly destroy some people's sense of history and culture, you will have to raze theier artefacts.


Again, the communists have spewn so many lies few people outside have any sort of idea of what has happened here.
