I came across this while looking at a /sffg/ member's profile and since he rated 5 stars I thought I'd give a chance since we have relatively similar tastes and have a considerable amount of overlap with what we've read. I probably wouldn't have any gotten around to reading it otherwise. I still have 3 days to fill of short fiction for the month. If there's anything else you want me to try of suitable length and it has its own entry, let me know. Technically this a novel since it's a bit more than 40k words, but whatever. Starting tomorrow and for the next six days I'll be posting the novelettes from the the Far Reaches, which is a commissioned collection by Amazon of individually released novelettes by popular SF authors. I don't know if the authors didn't care much, or what happened, but it was a disappointing affair like the previous similar collection I read from Amazon. Oh well. Yes, this is basically filler because reasons, etc.
