I do not think this is accurate. I see normalfags chattering all the time - if they truly wanted to alleviate their despair then surely they would start talking about how do this, and this sentiment would be reflected in the politics and the media. This is not the case, and from that I can only conclude that they are not particularly worried about their living situation, they are perfectly happy to spend their days slaving away.
