I sat in my bedroom on my futon with a girl who knew what her value was. Fishnet stockings, a black dress, and brunette hair down to her breasts. And legs that I can only describe as serious. And there sitting between us was a bottle of Bicardi Gold already half empty. I lit a cigarette. She doesn't smoke, but ended up smoking because of me, the incendiary enabler that I was. I did the math in my head: Me + her + my bedroom + liquor + my smoking + her outfit. I am terrible at math and none of it made sense. Do I make a move and deal with the rejection? This was my shot.

She began to believe that I was in love with her.
