Just came to the end of my journey.
Loved every step of the way, and really the ending wasn't bad.

This is an epic to last ages.

What's your opinion on The Dark Tower series, /lit/? I jsut started Wizard and Glass and, in my opinion, these books are fuckin awesome.

Why is the dark tower series such a piece of shit? I read the first 3 books and couldnt get past the gay ass train sequence at the start of wizard and glass, you know where they are riddling the train.That nigger susanna single handedly ruined the book for me.I ended up reading a summary of the rest of the series on wikipedia and it got even more convoluted and dumb.Why is this series so highly thought of?

Dont get me wrong the first book was awesome but it turned fucking stupid after that.

so I'm finally at the end of the dark tower. and I have a question for you. did you stop reading when he told you too and accepted the ending he gave you? or did you read on to the very last page?

So what does /lit/ thinks of this?

I know this question is probably asked quite a bit around here,but I'll give it a shot. I just finished Stephen King's Dark Tower series. Say what you will about King and perhaps how the final book played out, but can anybody suggest anything in a similar vein? Something of the Fantasy genre, but not quite as generic as Elves and Dwarves. Something different-- like the dark tower. Something that puts its own spin on things.

I'm about halfway through the first Dark Tower book. Does it get any better? Because right now it's flat and boring.
