Do you ever walk around the city and realize how ugly most people are? How they are trying to wear clothes idealistically but they don’t even fit them. How they’re all self conscious or completely unaware of this. How dreadful to have yo see this daily while you have to go to work.

The New Yorker Fiction Pocast has a format where an active author reads a short story by a retired/dead author and then discusses it with their head editor. This are the last 20 episodes.
I'd like you to tell me how you feel about the ones you recognize, if you've ever heard of them at all. Do consider that this has been going on for over a decade so we're at the bottom of the barrel. I'll include the short story in case you wondered which work they went for.

>Jonas Hassen Khemiri reads Vladimir Nabokov (A slice of life)
>Saïd Sayfrfiezadeh reads Samuel Backett (Ill Seen Ill Said)
>Claire-Louise Bennet reads Maeve Brennan (Family Walls)
>Clare Sestanovich reads Alice Munro (The Moons of Jupiter)
>Gary Shteyngart reads Weike Wang (Omakase)
>Ling Ma reads Nicole Krauss (Seeing Ershadi)
>Jamil Jan Kochai reads Yiyun Li (All Will be Well)
>Madeleine Thien reads Yoko Ogawa (The Cafeteria in the Evening and a Pool in the Rain)
>Elif Batuman reads Sylvia Townsend Warner (Truth and Fiction)
>André Alexis reads Italo Calvino (Waiting for Death in a Hotel)
>Akhil Sharma reads Joyce Carol Oates (Zombie)
>Rachel Kushner reads Edna O'Brien (Come Into the Drawing Room, Doris)
>Camille Bordas reads Saul Bellow (A Father-to-Be)
>Sherman Alexie reads Raymond Carver (Where I¡m Calling From)
>Gish Jen reads Grace Paley (Friends)
>Alejandro Zambra reads Bruno Schulz (Loneliness)
>Kevin Barry reads V.S. Pritchett (A family Man)
>Will Mackin reads George Saunders (The Falls)
>Ben Lerner reads Julio Cortázar (In the Name of Bobby)
>Donald Antrim reads Donald Barthelme (The Ballon)

As a side note I'd consider around half of them pretty fuckable.
