Heisenberg is fine as a kind of journalistic "i was there" account of the development of quantum theory, his ill-formed mystical musings informed by the early debates held with people like bohr and einstein, but as rigorous philosophical analysis of the physics it falls kind of short. >>16050230 has some better recommendations in that regard. There's always going to be some mathematics involved with this, but you can at least get a sense for where the conceptual difficulties in our physical models still remain and the best interpretations and ontologies that we have for them.
