I wish you were right but before this decade ends it will be your government that starts this war, not china's (assuming you are american). With every passing year the Chinese are growing stronger, while america rots from the inside. In the end the US will have to declare war in order to hold on to global hegemony. And do expect to be presented with a justification for war by your gevernment. You should be used to this by now.
War really is an inevitability because this time it's not about some tiny third world shithole with minor strategic importance or natural resources. This time it's about the ownership of the world. Doing nothing would mean China wins by default and considering america's giant millitary this scenario is unlikely.
