I fucking hate T.S. Eliot so much. I just got home after a small house party where our host asked us to recite poetry and all the other guests started spouting Modernist jibberish because they were vile bohemians. Even my girlfriend wanted to do that because she's read all those turgid anthologies and watched the films. Later on she got genuinely upset because I couldn't remember anything besides two lines from Gerontion. I knew there was no point in reminding her that I'm only into the Fireside Poets because I'd instantly get booed by these vulgar poseurs.
