I just wrote a poem, what do you think about it? Please be honest

The tactful cactus by your window
Surveys the prairie of your room
The mobile spins to its collision
Clara puts her head between her paws
They've opened shops down the West side
Will all the cacti find a home
But the key to the city
Is in the sun that pins
The branches to the sky

We write an epic poem one verse at a time

Would I be missing something if I leave /lit/ for one month and spend that whole month only reading?

alright, how long will it take to learn Italian to be able to read Dante? can I do it on my own?
where do I start?

Is it even worth reading epic poems in translation, isn't half of the enjoyment gone if you read it in translated? Been thinking of reading through the Divine Comedy over Christmas cause I have a translation lying around at my parents place that I never bothered to read but I feel it's kinda pointless if I can't appreciate the beauty of the original language. What do you guys think?
