Hey /lit/.
I'm a bit confused. I don't know what art is. It seems like definitions are constantly changing and I don't like that. I feel like art doesn't exist at all and that it all depends on the preferences of the "artists" or the people judging "art" that is presented to them.

On a larger scale... Why is there no right or wrong? How do I get rid of this confusion? People say that a part of growing up is to start compromising with these kind of things but I feel like this feeling of uncertainty will never go away. I don't really know what I want. It feels like the existential crisis never went away.

Been reading some material from the Beats and found Kerouac's list of writing rules.

One of them is 'never get drunk outside your own house' and I was just wondering what the hell Kerouac meant by that?

What reasons would he have? Can you absorb more? Not be as clouded?

Want some thoughts /lit/
