Hmm, maybe Always Coming Home by Leguin and The Fortunate Fall by Raphael Carter. one is post-post-apocalyptic with people living like Native Americans in regrown California woods and the other one is post-cyberpunk and features some incredibly futuristic tech. The main character is a reporter that "broadcasts" all their senses to people streaming the sense into their brains at home. it's a political thriller in a crazy and relatively accurate/possible

sounds cool. maybe try "The Fortunate Fall" by Raphael Carter. it's a book written in 1994 but it only gotten more relevant and timely as time has passed, it could have been written this year. I found a free ebook version without issue. the main character is a woman reporter, a reporter in this day and age streams her whole consciousness and all relevant senses (not pain obviously) to people watching the news to provide an experience as though you were really at the news all while sitting on your couch. and that's just the world building, the story is about a government conspiracy involving this reporter
