Got 40 mins left in the audiobook. What next? How bad is Children of Dune, really?

The turn this site took to end up at a straight faced unironical “won’t somebody think of the children!” was something I didn’t see coming but here we are. It makes it even more comical that many anons can’t even fathom being in a realistic position where they could have kids anyway

Can we stop pretending /lit/ is a literature board? Most threads have little to do with literature

I hate Brief Interviews because I know a person irl that also used their amputated arm as a way to guilt women into having sex with him. I also slept with a friend after she came to me to talk about a nasty breakup and I still believe that's the reason we sort of drifted apart afterward.

I can't read that shit. It called me out too many times and I couldn't stop cringing.

Why should I bother reading books when reading manga and watching anime gives me much deeper stories without being boring? Why should I have to read some pretentious, description of a beautiful sky with big complex words when they can just show it to me as an image?

It just doesn't make sense. Books have been surpassed.
