It used be, at least when I first arrived in 2014, that the word autist was tossed around like how we toss around cringe and dilate and incel now. It was highly romanticized though. If you browsed 4chan you were an autist and everyone who didn’t was a normie. I don’t know when but some time in the past couple of years that was replaced with schizoposting and the romanticization of schizophrenia, which I think was supported by Terry Davis becoming a huge meme.
