Best poems, short stories, legends, quotes, books, rabbinic scriptures, etc, about Adam. The more poetic the better.

This is an interesting legend and I would like to know more, especially about Adam in old age.

I have not read the bible but wish to do so.
I'm currently reading the King James version (from project Gutenberg).
Is there anything to keep in mind to intepret it in the correct way ?

I've been a lurker for over an year now. Everyone on /lit/ seems to be convinced that God really exists. Ofcourse the idea of /lit/'s God seems to be different than your average religious person. I'll admit, I'm not as well read as you guys are, but I'm willing to learn. So what(books, ideas, thoughts, incidents, etc) exactly convinced you that a higher power exists?
