Katabata-In-Yu-Yu pastiche

Kawabata pushed his way aboard the train and surrendered his seat to Yusuke when the latter followed after.
He then handed over the evening paper and took Out his bifocals from his pocket. Yusuke was entrusted with a spare set. But he was much given to forgetting them.
Kawabata leaned over the paper. ‘Keiko said today that a classmate of hers Saw a spirit, We do need another person for the tournament, you know. So I said we’d take her.’
‘Don’t you think it might be a little dangerous, having a friend of Keiko around?’
‘Dangerous?’
‘She‘s a girl dumbass! What if keiko starts thinking she could fight? ’
‘You let Botan come with you
‘Well, I guess but that’s different oldman” Kawabata turned back to the paper.
‘Has keiko been talking about me?’ asked Yusuke as they got off by the mountain and began towards kurama’s house.
‘She hasn’t said a thing. I wouldn’t imagine why you think she would say anything to me”
A monstrous roar echoed throughout the streets.
Kawabata was silent for a moment. ‘There’s been something wrong with my ears these last few days, I think.”

“You think?! “

Yusuke then lifted his finger-gun looking for the opponent.

“The other night I opened the shutter to let in a little air, and I heard the mountain rumbling. “ said Kawabata
“It rumbled just like it’s rumbling now”
Yusuke and Kawabata both looked toward the mountain.

A man is sitting outside your window with a gun pointed at you, poised to shoot at any moment. He's far off into the darkness and if you put the window shades down he will open fire. Answer the following question to save yourself:
What 5 books do you bring to a dessert island? No TV or movies or anything other than these 5 books exist for entertainment(there are desserts of course but bathing in richness makes things taste bland)

Japanese. Four years in, a six month stint in Tokyo, and I can read/write basic texts and articles and speak at a conversational level. I am hoping to get a job teaching in japan next year to get into that immersive environment again.
I started learning so I can eventually read Kawabata, Tanizaki, Dogen, Shinran, and Issa. I am seriously considering becoming a shin buddhist now.
It's gonna be an uphill battle, lads.

What do you think of Tumblr (please no memes) and specifically of the text "literature" that it's posted there. Opinions on the community?
