What book do you want to read that has not been written yet? Is there an important story that needs to be told that nobody has gotten around to? Is there an aspect of life that has yet to be translated into words? A fictional story? Bible 2?

It's the time of the year. Let's make the most out of it.
Post comfy winter recs and explain why you like them.

I start:
Mountain Crystal/Rock Crystal - Adalbert Stifter
Technically an Easter novella but still. Two kids get lost in the snow and the men of two opposing villages band together to save them. Very christian, very romantic (as in the period). It's a short read I read it every year in Advent.

So why would this help you cope with wasting your youth? Because once you realize and accept that you are eternal and live literally billions upon trillions upon quadrillions of lives, wasting your youth, or indeed even your whole life, does not become a big deal at all. As one NDEr said, quoting from the book:

>"And I went through the ceiling and I was in the atmosphere now, I was above California, and it's, I don't even know how to describe this accurately, but it kind of looked like SimCity. It didn't look real at all, like I just came from some kind of a game that was being played. Like all these little trees, and people walking around. It looked like some kind of computer game, or some simulation I was looking at. You know how people say that it's like a dream? Like living life is like a dream and then the other realm is the real world? I wouldn't even say that that's even a remotely accurate description. It was just such a minute, insignificant little experience that I had on Earth, that was just so short and temporary, that I might as well just forgotten it. It was just, it was nothing. It was like 'Oh yeah, yeah he's back home' kind of a thing. And it felt like, you know how people say it feels like you're home? I would go further and say that it felt more like I was there forever. It's way beyond just a feeling of being at home, that doesn't describe it very well. It's like I never left there. To be honest, I think we're all kind of there, we just, we're perceiving ourselves as being here at the moment. But we never actually completely leave that realm, I don't think we do. It's just a short little experience, that's all. That's all life is."

So you can literally "waste" a million lives in a row and in eternity, it is still not a big deal at all.

>being uncomfortable with and afraid of love, the greatest thing ever
ngmi
Seriously though, as is pointed out in the book mentioned here >>20821945:
>"... what could possibly be more existentially serious and purposeful than figuring out what the best possible emotions are, and then trying our best to sustain them as much as possible? Are our feelings ultimately not the most important things in our lives? To feel good, to feel peaceful, to feel acceptance, to feel love, and to feel happy. What could possibly be more important, and hence more serious and purposeful, than that? ... Why would the most enlightened and self-realized beings not want to feel as much of the best positive emotions at all times as possible? And hence, why would a higher reality not have their entire reality overflowing with such emotions to the extent that they are capable of achieving it? Is it really that speculative to think that the NDE world is overflowing with practically infinite unconditional love, acceptance, peace, and bliss because those are what was long ago realized as the best feelings that provide the most enjoyment and purpose out of existence?"
>>20822291
The main benefits of learning about NDEs are that you lose your fear of death and view it more as something to look forward to. Life doesn't end at death, it gets vastly better. It really is like waking up from a nightmare. As a quote from this book >>20821945 points out,
>"For me, life is sort of like the haunted house. When you come in, you know it's just an experience. It's small, it's just one night, right? So it’s just this one life. You're eternal, you have billions of lives, so knowing that you’re going to come in just for one to have an experience, though it may be judged as tough, or difficult, or scary, you actually chose it because you knew it was just going to be an experience, you know it's no big deal. You understand on the other side that this part, life, is actually the dream, and you just wake up after. It's no different than one dream you had last night, out of a lifetime of dreams. This life that you're having right now is just one, it's just a blip."
Secondly, it teaches us how to live in a more loving, happy, fun, and meaningful way.
And to answer your question, yes, suicide is totally cool, there is no punishment for doing it. See this video: https://youtu.be/mhANf60Y4Nk
But you came here to try to shine with love as a human in a world where it is really difficult to do so, and not just suicide out of here ASAP as soon as you realize that paradise awaits you unconditionally around the corner of a ceased heartbeat. So life is a game, and suicide is turning it off. Being loving and kind 24/7 until death takes you is to beat the game comprehensively and 100%-ing it.

Went to the local bookstore today and picked up a fantasy novel called The Name of the Wind. Just finished the first chapter, seems pretty alright I'm pretty interested in it so far.

Decided I'm not meant for the "classics" and will stick to enjoying my fantasy novels.

Pretty good. Once I stopped trying to read stuff I didn't have an interest in I've been doing it a lot more and its really enjoyable.

I really love the Christmas time. The music is great and comfy, how cold it is and bundling up is great. I just wish things would be open and we didn't have a pandemic so I could go and do some Christmas events with family. We have always gone to an arboretum near us that decorates the nature walk with Christmas lights and sells hot chocolate along the way and its max comfy to walk with family while its gently snowing.

Bout to make some dinner, roasting some asparagus and peppers and heating up some chicken I cooked previously.

What really irks me is the lack of original ideas i hear in arguments. its always the same shit i have seen 1000 times over. I usually at least throw a few of my own ideas in their. Even if they make my argument overall weaker at least it spices up the argument instead of making it like the other million times the topic has been argued. Its like you are talking to a machine that only knows how to respond one way to any given input and will never deviate from it. Seriously you can predict exactly what argument they are going to use next by the time you finish your sentence. Makes it boring imo
