Tons of oxymorons in you post, Anon. I'm evading despair by procrastinating, but the things I do, don't make me happy? How does that make sense? Moreover, according to you procrastinating is sitting around for hours doing nothing... but I am doing things that keep me from despairing, so how can I be doing nothing? Clearly running away from despair is doing something. And of course you're assuming the things people do while procrastinating will necessarily be useless.

Ultimately however, I think I don't disagree with you; you really misunderstood the last question in my previous post though (or I worded it poorly): it's not about the things not being important per se, but our perception of the things as important, that matters. That's the real issue with procrastinating, the feeling of powerlessness that makes us run away from our tasks. So long as that conception remains discipline will never come into being.
