sup /lit/. What are your thoughts on Thoreau's Walden? I just finished reading it and while the more philosophical chapters were somewhat bearable -although he simply doesn't make any sense in many cases- the chapters about the lake and nature and whatever bored the life out of me. God, I almost passed out at the part in which he started to describe the flow and patterns of some fucking mud flow, Jesus Christ

I think Henry David Thoreau is a horrible writer and I disagree with his concepts almost entirely. Am I alone in this opinion?

I've read "Walden" several times. Possibly my favourite book. The only problem is I generally don't read this kind of stuff. Most of my books are Dragonlance/Fantasy/Buddhism and Several books about Samurai and fuedal Japan. (Like Shogun/Five Rings)

So can someone help me out. I' looking for something similar to walden. written in the same style, maybe even the same author. Never read anything else written by H.T.D. so I don't know if it's similar to Walden or eve worth reading.

Anyone got some suggestions...or even just wanna talk about stuff?
