When it comes to Ted, it's not about whether he was correct or not. It's about what he got right and what he got wrong.

>The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering
Not really.
Most people around me enjoy life.

So I was reading about Ted Kaczyinski and I became really tedpilled, so I decided to write a story to honour his views on civilization. I wanted to write a story with this as the premise, where the main character, after a stint in the military because of their uneventful childhood that turned them jaded and apathetic, opens their eyes to the poverty that the rest of the world has to deal with and becomes unable to cope with coming back to normal living, having seen the exploitation required to sustain such an artificial life. They begin to self-reflect and realize even their mundane childhood that, though was a depressing and solitary existence, still required lots of labour, wealth and luck to sustain. They then study relentlessly of civilization, history of the world and how it came to be. They conclude that the only way to "salvage" the human race is to destroy the world in masses to return it to a more primitive, natural setting. Later on in the story you realize although the main character is partially right in his criticisms on civilization, the actual problem is the main characters extreme and narrow problem solving capabilities, and it was the same flawed thinking that lead to his atypical childhood, unusual enlistment in the military and his odd fixation of studying the whole world.

Basically, a fictional story about Ted Kaczyinski. Are there any stories with a premise similar to this?
