lysistrata should be the first thing any person reads.

obviously you're thinking, most everyone is always thinking, but you're not allowing for those thoughts to take precedence. by consistently overriding your Self, you risk it, in turn, not respecting your little ego. eventually it will just stop bothering to bathe you in metaphysical treasures and leave you with your easy access media.

there's a time and a place for outside stimuli as well as a time and a place for letting your own mind come first without interruption. life gives you the gift of moments with busy hands and a free mind. don't spit on it.

when i was crazy all music played in tandem with my ever-running river of intertwined musings of the muses and mythos, passages of literature were pre-thought and disambiguated, flashbulbs of film stills skittered behind my eyes prior to seeing, billboards spoke in universal jokes. my third eye was blinking morse code in shades of purple and it was lovely.

now that it has quieted down, i've learned to give proper respect to my thoughts and not push them into corners constantly with unnecessary input. your thoughts are noisy as to compete with the thoughts of others. give them proper credit and let them bring you to the spaces of the mystics unhindered by hangers on more often.

my thoughts are intricate stories centered around various mythos surrounding our beautiful universe.

i give time and space for these shimmering star-thoughts as they were given to me by my higher mind. i respect my sneaky psyche too much to constantly ignore it for the instantly gratifying chattering of more obvious stimuli.

i'm talking about why tripusers on an anonymous forum can be beneficial to the overall community, not why anonymous forums should be gone4good.

none of what i said is mistaken.
i'm far from sad. i got a cute name and people who worship me as the princessqueen i am for both my tits and talks. but if it makes you feel better to think i am sad and misinformed, feel free to think that. i'll allow you that shred of contentedness :(

sometimes people who have been out of highschool for quite a while like to relive the glory days of being smartypants in their junior year of high school when act scores could be used to get bookish girl and boys to have sex with them. /lit/ is similar to junior year of high school.

people posting with trips are held responsible for the things they say. anon culture allows for a lot of hurtful shit to be thrown around. sometimes that's good, as it can be an opening for some honest and thoughtful criticism of the way we think and the way the world is, but in most cases it doesn't lead to anything productive.

just because something is said by someone anonymous as a joke or provocation or even earnest thought doesn't mean that it isn't problematic and something that causes real-world pain to real people.
it's easy to ignore or be unbothered by something some anon says on some forum, but the things that are spouted online with the protection of anonymity are also beliefs held or things acted out in real life (that are also protected by status) and these actions and beliefs affect real people. they affect them in more ways than "this thing hurt my feelings". sexist, racist, and etc speech propagated by the internet actively hurt people in real life in tangible ways. however, i'm not saying things like this should be censored, as it really is eye-opening and provides an opening for a discourse (that will be read by many people and may be beneficial).
you learn to ignore hate speech, but whole groups of people becoming desensitized to systemic issues in our society is something to be worried about.

trips hold you accountable. i think people who actively use trips and/or names are people who want to hold themselves accountable for the ideals they hold, even if that's not their conscious motive. all in all, it's admirable.

there aren't really benefits to using a name. you get individualized attention at times, but that's not necessarily a "benefit". people who choose to use one have that option.

no one is stopping you from being off-anon except for yourself for whatever "moral"-based or fear-based reasons you wrap yourself in. i think the whole thing is a pretty neutral issue and the people who have a problem with it are the ones causing most of the problems.

i'm not using myself as an exception. i don't think i ground this board in any way, as i don't post with the name enough to be considered. if anything, i'm a bit of a "nuisance" given my generally off topic threads. but i hold that if i bring any level of joy to any number of people that i've done something positive.

quite a few people openly enjoy the presence of trips and so on. if their presence doesn't cause any objective harm then i don't see a problem.
the people who hold issue will continue to object, and that's on them. a fruitless mission, in my opinion.

we're given the option of using trips. names just flow off of that. we are absolutely not doing any harm to the "4chan community". anonymity is a core aspect to this website and how people interact, but the juxtaposition of people wanting to be off-anon makes things interesting. in a sense, it grounds people. it's a reminder that you're interacting with a pretty stable group of people and you shouldn't let your community fall apart.

even still, you're not completely anon ever. you spread your way of writing around and people remember you by how you post (whether consciously or not). there are always identifiers.

while i don't necessarily think threads revolving around "tripfags" are beneficial, sometimes speaking out about the members of your community can bring about a higher level of content, especially in /lit/.

people who use trips or names are held responsible for what they post, often bringing about posts that are more thought than would have been posted if they hadn't been using their identifier.
