Imperfect and in need of time for revision but at the same time, beautiful in it's sincerity. "Your friend" should keep writing, but try explaining some of their ideas with images. Tell him to show, not tell. If he can show our senses how he feels with unusual language that catches our attention, it'll mean much more than just saying it.

and using the word "thy"
that sounds pretty poet-y,
except I forgot to make it have
any value at all to the reader
like a port-a-john at the edge of the universe
