If you're not religious, it stands to reason that you do not believe in anything divine.

If you do not believe in anything divine, you are an atheist.

Sure, there's strong (considered) and weak (unconsidered) atheism. I am a strong atheist. A newborn baby is a weak atheist. But we're both atheists.

Atheism: Disbelief in, and denial of the possibility of, a God or Gods.

Sounds like non-religion to me.

Neuromancer, by William Gibson.

Not so much the plot as the setting - it really made me think about modern society.

God damn that anthology, and everyone who featured in it.

Except Thomas Hardy. He was pretty good.

Hanging on the wall

Or at least, I think it was "hanging".

The whole damn thing's coming back to me now.

No, then it would be TV.

Just suck it up and read properly. You may find it hard at first, but in the end it's a completely different experience to an audiobook, and a better one at that.

Unless you drive a lot, in which case go for the audiobooks anyway.

I did English Lit in year 12 a couple of years ago, so assuming you're British I can help.

The big thing is essays. You'll have to do one at least every couple of weeks, so get used to it.

It's not too hard. The great thing about English Lit is that it's really easy to study outside the course if you get a bad teacher.

The end of year exams aren't that bad. Just more essays. Coursework is the thing you want to focus on.

C-C-C-CRIME AND PUNISHMENT HIJACK!

Is Raskolnikov a true refutation of nihilism and atheism, or is he simply a strawman who finds faith purely because Dostoyevsky wanted him to?
