I actually got laid far more often before I started reading. If anything, there's been a significant decrease in my sexual activity since I started reading a lot.

Look at the shoddy binding on that fucking book, holy shit. That is nauseating. Those responsible for the "binding" of that book should be drawn and quartered.

Infinite Jest had a lot of very funny parts in my opinion, like laugh-out-loud funny. Nabokov usually gets a few laughs out of me. The only other one I can think of is the Master & Margarita.

I've also wondered this. Finished Portrait recently and loved certain elements of it but didn't love the book as a whole. I plan on reading Dubliners soon. But if neither of them really grab me, how all I supposed to be motivated to tackle Ulysses? I know it's supposed to be his opus, but I just haven't seen yet what makes him so special. Will I only find that in Ulysses? Is everything else just preparation?

Great book. It's really a shame so many pseuds get so hot and bothered over it, it's been given a bad reputation by many of the same groups of people that probably, in part, drove David to suicide. Empty people.

Focus on loving yourself first and everything else will come naturally. Not even kidding.
