structural genre in general is toxic past a certain point. although that point is different for every genre it always comes.
you start writing to fill a form instead of to tell a story effectively, or that form has been reasonably exhausted.
writing in the future will be a mix of some things that came before it, with a few new key elements, which will in turn crystallize into toxic genre categories again, etc. general but i don't really keep up with really bleeding edge contemporary things.
that being said, structural form is entirely different than narratological form

i don't even know what palahniuk and ellis are getting at. they're confusing an economic distinction for a structural one. there's some mix but it's mostly a confusion on their part.

>the books produced by authors in these genres will only be known within these genres/groups
what is a coterie audience? everything that came before..

>logical discussion
>'poetry' as rigorously-defined category

i'm sure /pol/ has come in or will at some point so the rest of this thread can p much be summed up with
>niggers are stupid
>all hip-hop is stupid/made for stupid people/mass consumption
>muh Petrarchan sonnet form
>muh philosophical themes
etc.

The Universe wants to play. Those who refuse out of dry spiritual greed & choose pure contemplation forfeit their humanity--those who refuse out of dull anguish, those who hesitate, lose their chance at divinity--those who mold themselves blind masks of Ideas & thrash around seeking some proof of their own solidity end by seeing out of dead men's eyes.
