The Philosophy of happiness - Nietzsche on hardship

>British philosopher Alain De Botton explores Friedrich Nietzsche’s (1844-1900) dictum that any worthwhile achievements in life come from the experience of overcoming hardship. For him, any existence that is too comfortable is worthless, as are the twin refugees of drink or religion.

i mean.. if you earned a BA.. it means that most of your classes involve writing essays.. And probably you werent a good writer, thats why you got 3.0 GPA.

This might say something about your writing samples... im sure they suck too..

So yeah, you are pretty much fucked up with a useless BA degree and 50k of debt.

that picture is so retarded at so many levels..

yeah life is nothing except a bunch of carbon and some other cheap elements.. abstract concepts like organization are much more valuable than concrete blocks.

i think you are the same guy that posted in another wittgenstein thread. But long story short, read something related to the philosophy of modeling, particularly from the perspective of complex systematics.

Essays on Life Itself by Rosen

Read the modeling section

i read about his picture theory.. and it very well fits the modern descriptions in the philosophy behind modeling.. Although, i dont see any big fuzz about this.. i figured out the limitations and the implications of modeling when i was like 20 by myself.

I only read about his picture theory because is commonly cited in science. Im completely ignorant about the rest of his work, but if it stays at the same level i wouldn't be impressed at all.
