How does it make you feel that while you sit comfortably in your well-heated house, living during the peek of Western Civilization's quality of life, you still complain? You think that the reality of life is so bland, all the while gorging yourself at least three times a day on God knows what. If the slightest inconvenience happens to you, you just fall back on your pathetic philosophy that life is filled with nothing but pain and suffering.
All this is happening while not too far from you, people are starving and actually being subjected to misfortune on a grandiose scale.
And what do you do to stop it? Nothing, you just sit home and read the latest Stephen King novel.

You pretentious literati are funny; to you, there is only one way of interpreting Nietzsche, and that is when you interpret him as a leftist. All other interpretations are false.

What makes you think that you are correct in interpreting him? You could just as easily be the one misinterpreting him.

He was a proto-objectivist, where do you think Rand got her inspiration from?

Books/Authors that changed your political views?

For me, I would have to say Nietzsche. He brought me out of my former socialist mindset and introduced me to an objectivist point of view.

He doesn't even know anything about philosophy; all he does is throw out different schools of thought that he read about on Wikipedia and claim that he is the best.
I hate to use this word because it usually annoys me, but I think 'Pseudo-Intellectual' has an appropriate place here.

Yes I understand what you are saying, but if there really is nothing after you die, then it really doesn't matter if you commit suicide. Since nothing exists, there is nothing to miss out on. You have everything you will need.
Essentially by your logic, there is really no use in gaining a few trite memories if you are only going to forget them as soon as you die. You might as well die as soon as you can because it will be the same whether you were a king or a peasant when you are dead.

You are taking that as if it were an axiom. The truth is that no one alive knows for sure, there is only one way to find out and that is to die.

How do you know that? You are making assumptions. There are two ways to learn the truth; one just happens to be quicker than the other.

It depends on the reason why you commit suicide. You can commit suicide out of strength. That is how you can become your own god, so to speak, because it shows that you are entirely responsible over your own life. You rely on no one to decide your fate, you bring it into your own hands.

I used the overman as a reference for someone who is self-overcoming. He used "life-denying" as a term to describe Christians who abstain from vices only because they want to get into heaven, which is being disingenuous. But regardless, your post does make more sense towards Nietzschean thought, but again, I was only using the Overman as a rough reference for self-overcoming.

Anyone put into a condoning situation can more or less control themselves, but it takes true will power and mental strength for one to overcome oneself.

Suicide is the only intellectual act one can do in their lifetime. The only reason why people are afraid of suicide is because it goes against their evolutionary instinct to live, hence they are they have no real control over their own life and are dominated solely by instincts.
Intellectuality is overcoming instincts. Only the stupid are scared of death, scared just like a rat trapped in a cage.
Which are you: the scared and pathetic rat or the self-overcoming Overman?

Well then don't hate women, hate evolution. Hate the world that brought this upon all of us, hate humanity, but don't hate women. They are beautiful creatures.
